1. Why Farm Coral

Coral resources are tied to tech progression. Public guides note that Mk2 Energy Rod needs 150 Coral Chunks and 15 Weird Coral, so this is not a material set you finish in one easy run.

2. Where to Find Coral Chunks

GamesRadar testing suggests Coral Chunks most reliably come from Rare Valuables Safes, the large black-and-gold safes found in named POIs. The guide author reported only finding Coral Chunks in those safes.

Practical meaning: if this run is for tech progression, do not spend all your time on low-value boxes. Prioritize named POIs and safes.

3. Where to Find Weird Coral

Weird Coral can drop from Upiors. Upiors often appear near POIs and can also spawn around random wrecks in the desert. Public guides note that the drop rate is low, so expect multiple runs or several cleared locations.

4. Recommended Farming Loop

  1. Prepare an empty crate:Bring an empty crate when leaving the ship. Put loot into it while opening safes to reduce trips back and forth.
  2. Clear Upiors first:Clearing enemies reduces interruptions while looting and gives a chance at Weird Coral.
  3. Search safes next:Prioritize Rare Valuables Safes, then fill in with normal containers.
  4. Extract after one full crate:Coral is valuable. Once a crate is full, do not greed another POI unless the area is completely quiet.

5. Risk Control

Do not fire flares casually:Signal smoke reveals your position, which is especially bad when carrying coral.

Turn off the engine when needed:Public guides mention that Trampler exhaust can reveal your position. When looting for a long time, consider turning off the engine to reduce visibility.

Do not fight too long inside a POI:Gunfire and dust both attract third parties.

6. Coral Run Log Template

Coral farming improves when you stop judging runs only by the final haul. Track what happened, then repeat the safer routes instead of chasing a lucky drop.

7. What to Keep, Sell or Risk

Keep for progression

Coral Chunks, Weird Coral and materials used in high-value upgrades should go home early. Do not risk them for one more building.

Sell or stash

Mixed valuables are useful, but they should not replace the run goal. If the run is for coral, keep inventory space for coral.

Risk only when safe

Only extend the route when fuel, hull, ammo and nearby sound cues are all favorable. One quiet extra safe is better than a loud second POI.
